Education should be provided and encouraged so more women will be literate. The education that they receive goes to assist them pursue what they need to pursue. Women can have the life that they need to possess and be happy in it.

In the Indian Constitution, it is legally placed to grant equality to all the women in all the spheres of society as men. Article 42 – it contains a crucial clause for women’s empowerment. It guides the government to ensure just and humane working conditions as well as maternity leave.

Article 39(c) ensures equal pay for equal work.

Case Law

Lakshmi v. State of India[1]

An acid attack survivor, Lakshmi, filed a petition seeking legislation to restrict acid sales and provide fair compensation to victims. In 2013, the Supreme Court placed strict restrictions on the selling of acid, in response to a rise in the number of cases of acid attacks against women. The ruling prohibited the selling of acid over the counter. Dealers can sell acid if the customer provides valid identification and states that the purchase is necessary. It is also required that the dealer submit the fine print of the sale to the police within three days. It also made it illegal to sell acid to those under the age of 18.
